Directions
: Bryning Caravan Park is set in the heart of the rural
Fylde Coast, between the villages of Warton and Wrea Green,
south of the A583 Blackpool-to-Preston road.
Leave the M55 motorway at
junction 3 and take the exit towards Kirkham. At the fourth
roundabout cross the A583 Blackpool to Preston road then
follow the B5259 towards Lytham. At the second roundabout
(Wrea Green), take a left towards Warton, shortly passing
the Equitation Centre on the left. After another quarter
of a mile, turn into an adopted marked road and call at
the bungalow for directions to your pitch.
For driving directions
from your place to ours, just type your postcode into
the box on the left and hit 'Go'. This will bring up a
new window where you can click on 'Details' or 'Map' to
see your route.
Places
to Visit : There are several towns and villages
nearby that are well worth a visit, such as Lytham, St.Annes,
Wrea Green, Kirkham, Blackpool, Preston, Fleetwood and
Garstang. Each has their own character and there's bound
to be something for everyone. If you'd like to travel
further afield for a day out, the Lake District National
Park is only one hour's drive away!
If you're with us from early
September to early November, you can also see the world
famous Blackpool illuminations. Times vary so check nearer
the time if the lights will be shining when you are here.
Activities
: For the active amongst you, there are two equestrian
centres within 5 minutes drive of the site and golf driving
range within 10 minutes drive. But for those who want
little more than just driving practice, why not try a
full round of golf at one of the area's championship golf
courses, such as Royal Lytham. At St.Annes you
will find pitch & putt, indoor swimming
or if it's a real scorcher, why not try the lovely sandy
beaches and sand dunes at St.Annes?
Fun
: For a full day's excitement, the Pleasure Beach at
Blackpool is a sure winner. Why not ride the 'Big One'
and have your photo taken whilst you're on, just to prove
you did it! Also in Blackpool is the Zoo, which houses
not only all the great animals from around the world,
but now has a brand new dinosaur attraction, which the
kids will love.
If it's a rainy day, the
Sandcastle indoor water world enables you to stay
at a tropical 84 degrees all day long. You can splash
in the wave pool or try one of the many water slides available.
The Sea Life Centre
on the promenade in Blackpool is a showcase for all types
of sea creatures, but in particular there are live sharks!
There is a great 'touch pool' for the kids to get close
to and touch the more friendly types of sea creatures
too.
Eating
: Just two minutes walk from the caravan park is a lovely
country pub, The Birley Arms, which serves food
and benefits from conservatory and an outdoor seating
area. And just 5 minutes walk away is Rigby's Farmhouse
Restaurant, which serves high quality home-cooked
food, a real treat. A short drive away at Wrea Green you
will find a warm welcome and some excellent food being
served at The Grapes public house, or if you want
to get dressed up, try an a-la-carte meal at The Villa,
just outside Wrea Green village.
If you'd just like some
old-fashioned fish & chips, there is an outlet in Warton
and several other carry-out places in Kirkham or Lytham.
